Booked our first ever abroad holiday for later this year to take the kids on as they have never been abroad before. Me and my partner both have valid passports but needed to get some for the kids. Not a problem i thought, we had a couple of months to do this which i assumed would be plenty of time to get the applications in and the passport back or so we thought. I picked up the application forms and got them all filled out eventually but then could not fine the passport id card cost anywhere, i think it was on a separate sheet i lost. I basically had to go and get whole new application packs just to find out the cost!. My next step was the other documents that i needed to go with the forms, the birth certificates were easy but they needed my birth certificate too! i haven’t seen my birth certificate for years! this meant i had to order,pay and await for new one before i could do anything. Luckily the certificate only took 1 week to arrive which was nice but needed it for both applications so had to send it all in one. Now im not sure on the latest passport laws 2010 but was told i should be expecting the passports in 2-3 weeks. All seemed to go well until 2 weeks into the application process i was wrote to saying there was a problem with the photos i sent, they were not happy with them. This meant another delay where i needed to get new photos done and sent off again to the office.
